Webster Golf Club Wedding Photography Rochester NY ~ Beth and Mike
Beth and Mike had a blast during their engagement photo session, so you know the wedding was going to be a party too. They planned their ceremony and reception at Webster Golf Club in Webster, NY.
They had a brief, simple ceremony in the same location. They had commemorative candles in memory of their parents who had passed and weren’t able to be there, as well as a beautiful sand combining ceremony to represent the joining of their families.
The cocktail hour might be the very best part of the wedding. The ceremony is over so the pressure is off and as the bride and groom you have a rare change to chat with all the people you love but don’t get to see often enough. Sometimes couples skip the cocktail hour for pictures, but if there’s a way in your day to swing both, I’d highly recommend it.
There’s a little bit of an art to formal wedding photos, because you want them to go as quickly as possible so you can enjoy the wedding you’ve so carefully planned! The best approach is to start with the largest group of people, especially the kids, and then whittle it down until it’s just the bride and groom. Photographing the kids first helps kids tremendously since they’re already under some behave-yourself pressure, and also helps out their parents.
After the groups are done, the bride and groom can sneak in a few couples shots and get a good variety pretty quickly. Plus people aren’t standing around staring at you, which makes it easier to relax.
Not that Mike needed any help to relax – he was so happy.
They chose a beautiful purple theme and had a lovely, simple wedding cake.
And the dancing kind of made you want to put down your camera and jump in. The kids clearly had the time of their lives.
Thank you so much Mike and Beth for sharing your day with me!
