Becker Farms Wedding Photography Gasport Rochester Buffalo NY ~ Jillian and Steve
I first met Jillian via text message when she asked if I’d be willing to photograph her wedding. That’s pretty normal, but what was super unusual was that she’d heard about me because of my husband, who was her professor. A first for sure! Apparently he’s well loved at his college and that gave me street cred. I didn’t actually meet Jill and Steve until after the ceremony was over. Craziness! We’re all down for that kind of real life stuff over here.
The wedding was held at Becker Farms in Gasport, NY – a beautiful outdoor wedding venue situated on working fruit and vegetable farm near Buffalo.
And when you’re in a wedding dress and a tux, why not head into a barn and climb up a ladder into a loft?
Jillian’s beautiful daughter Georgia was having a bit of a rough go at it on this particular day, which is when spending a few minutes playing can come in handy. She absolutely lit up when her mom started dipping her.
So if you’re getting married in the near future, be sure to give yourself permission to take a few minutes to soak it all in and let loose a little. The wedding coordinator can wait!
Not surprisingly, the wedding party was super lively. This was the mandatory serious photo. Followed by all the fun ones.
The actual wedding ceremony was perhaps the shortest ceremony in the history of wedding ceremonies. That was a beautiful thing on this particularly toasty July day.
Sometimes you have to remind yourself to stop taking photos of the ridiculously cute three year old and mix it up a little.
Since we’re going a little out of order here, these are some images of guests arriving.
And of course, the reception after the ceremony and formal photos.
And when you can cut your wedding cake with a machete, why not?
Jill and Steve are both veterans and they honored their brothers and sisters who were missing in action or prisoners of war with a beautiful POW-MIA ceremony.
And I might just need to get out more, but I’ve never seen more people on a dance floor having a better time than I did at this wedding.
We also managed to sneak away for a few more photos during the reception.
Thank you so much Jillian and Steve for sharing your day with me. It was such a huge honor and a blessing to get to know you and your friends and family. I wish you all the best and hope our paths cross again soon!
